Sabbath School page

The Sabbath School is the primary religious education system of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and has four purposes: study of the Scripture, fellowship, community outreach, and world mission emphasis. (SDA Church Manual, page 119)

Our vision: The Sabbath School Ministry at Wimbledon International SDA Church will provide a conducive foundation upon which members will grow in Christ-likeness and in so doing develop a passion for working for the well- being of others. Our Mission is to INSPIRE and TEACH members so that they can GO and TELL all people the good news about Christ’s Kingdom.

To accomplish the mission and to drive toward our vision we will use the following strategies:

 REACH UP to God through prayer, Bible and Spirit of Prophecy Education for our members by using increased times for the lesson study  and other Bible study programs;
 REACH ACROSS barriers that threaten to stunt our spiritual growth and fellowship by reducing the size of Sabbath School Classes to between 8-10 people in a class – resulting in at least eight adult classes – will mean training more facilitators to lead the lesson study;
fellowship together as a church family and in smaller groups to encourage an avenue for disciple making, spiritual growth nurturing and involvement in the life and mission of the church.
 REACH OUT to the community through our members (in conjunction with the Small Groups Ministry) by  training Bible workers – 3 to 5 Bible Workers added to the pool every year supporting needs based on small groups.
